Nicholas K and Richard Chai
were far from good shows.
Nicholas K’s gothic western ordeal was whack, and probably would’ve stood a chance of at least being decent sans those alias wigs and ridiculous Yosemite Sam hats. And the show seemed to drag on forever. I was over it really quick.
Richard Chai’s collection was okay. A few good pieces, very RTW, boxy blazers, belted coats. His color scheme was minimal and dull towards the beginning, but got more vibrant towards the end with fuchsia and florals. A couple of the models nearly face planted on the runway, which may have been the highlight to an otherwise sub par show.
It’s such a shame because I really love both designers, and they both have done some fantastic work in the past. I guess this isn’t their season.
It’s only day one of NYFW, so I’m confident that I will see some show-stopping collections within the next week.
just watched the BCBG MAX AZRIA show
and the collection was beautiful.
So many color-blocked brights for next fall, Classic clean cuts, and perfect styling. And lot’s of great fur bags, pieced fur vests, and sleeves!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the shows.
